Mathieu Weemaels si dice che dipinga tele astratte in cui rappresenta elementi del mondo reale. Il vero soggetto delle sue opere è la contemplazione di cose semplici (come una tazza, un frutto lasciato sul tavolo…) esaltate dalla luce nostalgica degli interni delle nostre abitazioni dove regnano solitudine, calma e silenzio.
Mathieu Weemaels figlio d’arte, madre violinista e padre pittore, è un artista contemporaneo che trae ispirazione dai famosi pittori dell’astrattismo, come l’artista americano Mark Rothko. La singolarità del suo lavoro gli è valsa numerose mostre a Bruxelles e in Belgio, ma anche in Francia, Italia, Spagna e Danimarca. Oltre a questo, è stato il destinatario di numerosi premi come il prestigioso premio della Royal Academy of Belgium.

Mathieu Weemaels he is said to paint abstract canvases in which he represents elements of the real world. The real subject of his works is the contemplation of simple things (like a cup, a fruit left on the table…) enhanced by the nostalgic light of the interiors of our homes where solitude, calm and silence reign.
Mathieu Weemaels son of art, violinist mother and painter father, he is a contemporary artist who draws inspiration from famous abstract painters, such as the American artist Mark Rothko. The singularity of his work has earned him numerous exhibitions in Brussels and Belgium, but also in France, Italy, Spain and Denmark. Other than that, it is been the recipient of numerous awards such as the prestigious award of the Royal Academy of Belgium.
